I have been following the thread on fireworks with interest. Perhaps some
of you may be interested to know that the NZ Government this year following
Guy Fawlks Day decided that as from next year fireworks will only be sold to
those over 18 and for three days before 5th November only! Some people do
buy then to use later, but obviously we don't suffer nearly as much as some
of you do!!!!
To bring lace into this!! My granddaughter is called Chiara and has asked me
why I don't have a bobbin with her name on it!!! I explained that it was
unlikely to be on any English bobbins as it would not have been used in
England when the lacemakers where about. So she asked the obvious!!! What
about the Italians then!! I told her I didn't think the Italians put names
on their bobbins; but of course I could be wrong; does anyone know the
answer to this?
