Dear Clay, Thank you for your concern. We are skiing in the Alps where there's no problem with earthquakes. Unfortunately it's the mountainous southern region of Italy which is an earthquake zone - there are two faults there and they are both moving. This latest quake has been made even worse by

"I noticed on Arachne that Jean and David Leader are skiing in Italy. I read that an avalanche in Italy buried a hotel." A friend who is not on the list (but reads the digest...) sent me this, and since it has not been mentioned on Arachne, can anyone who knows anything about this let us know?
