HI All,
I am in the process of making a lace garter, which I have made before. I am
just wondering how others who may have made a garter for a bride managed to
finish it off with the elastic or ribbon, or both, threaded through the
middle.
In the past I have never been very successful with threading elastic through
and putting ribbon over the top of it. I have tried machine zig zagging
blue ribbon onto a length of elastic and threading through but that was not
over successful as the elastic got a bit stretched in the zig zag stitching.
Threading just sating ribbon through and expecting that to stay up once tied
around the leg seems a bit of an impossibility to me, too slippery. The
ideal I think would be if I could buy light blue elastic and thread that
through adding a little bow perhaps, but I can't find blue elastic here only
black and white here locally and Barcelona is a long way to go for half a
yard of elastic. ;-))))
How do others manage to finish off a garter?
