On the last weeks theme of Lace Makers Helps I thought others with not much room to spare for storing several lace pillows when they are not in use might find this helpful.

I bought one of those collapsible wardrobes years ago. This is the type that has a tubular metal frame that goes together like tent poles, there is a board in the bottom to make a floor and help keep it more rigid and a hanging rail across the top, some models have shelves to one side too but I wanted just a rail. The cover is plasticised fabric with a zipped up door in it this goes over the frame and fits nice and tightly in place. There a little rubber/plastic feet on the ends of the upright poles to form water/damp proof feet.

I have this in the garage where it is airy, (draughty), and the plasticised fabric keeps the pillows damp proof.

I put each of my spare pillows in it's carry bag and slip the handles of the bag over a strong wire or wooden coat hanger, plastic hangers will break if the pillow is a heavy straw filled one. I then hang each one on the rail. My I can also put my long spanish pillow in it's carry bag and lay that on the floor of the wardrobe at it is quite bulky to hang up amongst the flatter pillows. You could even keep other bits and pieces in the wardrobe, a collapsible pillow stand for example or rolls of pricking card because the damp can't get at the items inside the wardrobe.
