I wanted to let everyone know how special it is to have a nice lace group!
Besides Arachne, I really enjoy my local guild.  The ladies are so wonderful!
We had a small meeting yesterday but were fortunate to have 2 newish members
and 2 long-time, greatly missed members in attendance.  It's so nice to
reconnect with our lace friends.

Our guild is planning a small display at
the Albuquerque Public Library during the month December.  They will be
displayed in 2 flat, locked cases and one medium pedestal case.  Members have
been hard at work creating ornaments for a small tree in the pedestal case.
One of our newer members has been very prolific with her ornaments.  Another
busy lacemaker has been hard at work on many, many bangle ornaments.
Inspiring to get more than my piddly two finished!  We also have a holiday
potluck for our December meeting.  We like to do an ornament swap at this
meeting.  In general, there are two swap boxes:  one for
purchased/non-handmade and another for handmade ornaments.  To me, this is the
best part of all of our meetings.  A wonderful chance to trade for a lovely
handmade piece by a dear friend.

I'm also looking forward to the card swap
on Arachne!  Several of my guild members are also participating.  It is so
nice to have so many lace connections.  I hope everyone else is hard at work
and enjoying making lace.
