I consider my bobbins as tools of my trade, as they were originally meant to
be. If one gets broken I mend it if I can. If the spangle breaks I respangle.
If the spangle is too heavy I respangle with a lighter spangle, not
necessarily to same beads but ones that are the size and weigh

I am enjoying this thread about the bobbins.I am very much in favor of fixing
bobbins of any age so that they might be used to make lace again! Yes, if they
are antiques they should be restored properly and it should always be noted
