Hi Spiders,

One of the local lacemakers here also uses tights (pantyhose, don't know what
this item is called in the US), with the legs cut-off for securing her bobbins
when transporting the pillow - and it does generate a lot of comments.
For "normal" carrying around of the pillos, I use knitting stitch holders (or
the crocheted holders - crocheted out of cut-up tights/pantyhose rather than
wool), and pin my cover cloth so that all of the threads are just a little
slack. Bur for a pillow that is going in a suitcase to be thrown around by
airline companies, I add tights (with the legs on and wrapped around the
pillow a couple of times). Thread as fine as 140/2 Egyptian has survived
worldwide travel this way.

I PREFER to carry my pillow horizontally if possible, but I also like BIG
pillows - 50 or 60 cm diameter (the 70cm one hasn't been taken out yet) - and
it's too much strain on the shoulder and elbow to carry them horizontally if
only one arm is available.
