Dear Catherine, Just happened to have a look through my old IOLI bulletins yesterday. Especially noted the "Gossip Pillow" on the back cover of Volume 13, Number 4, dated Summer 1993. This is part of a collection belonging to Patsy Anderson, formerly of Utah but now living in Florida. The article inside the magazine was about her lace pillow collection. Patsy is one of 3 council members representing American members of OIDFA. Catherine, you can find contact information in the centerfold of the Number 4, 2010, OIDFA bulletin. In the interest of protecting privacy, I'll not put in this memo which can be accessed by all sorts of people, including some with no connection to lace. Go to _http://www.mail-archive.com/lace@arachne.com/index.html_ (http://www.mail-archive.com/lace@arachne.com/index.html) and enter "Gossip Pillow" in the Search box for a little more information. Incidentally, this old IOLI bulletin contains information and pictures of the block of 4 lace stamps issued by the U.S. Postal Service on the inside back cover, plus modified directions for making the laces shown on the stamps. A nice quote from a postal official: "Do you realize what you have done? You have no money, no lobby, a very tiny constituency and you got a Stamp!" Dear lacemakers I am trying to track down photographs/information about two unuaual lace pillows and wonder if any of you can help? .............one that I recall seeing at an IOLI Convention when I was teaching many years ago, and if my memory serves me correctly, I think it was Denver. It was call a 'Friendship Pillow' and was a huge pillow (circular I believe, but could have been square) with four rollers north, south, east and west, enabling four lacemakers to work at the same pillow at the same time, hence the name 'Friendship Pillow'. .........any information as to it's owner would be greatly appreciated.
