I'm currently working on a Bucks bookmark for a friend - it is based on
the track layout of Porthmadog Station (Welsh Highland Heritage Railway)
- which also looks very much like his initial! I was hoping to have it
finished for Christmas, but the need to get a cardigan knitted for my
niece's baby (due January 8th) and help my eldest daughter, Jenny, get
her daughter's "new" bedroom sorted out and get ready for the arrival of
her (Crystal's) little brother (due January 22nd) have got in the way
somewhat.
Still have a piece of floral Bucks started with Alex in May (this year)
on blocks, and on my travel pillow an insertion experimenting with the
way of overlapping three gimp rings to see if I can describe in words
how it is done (those who saw my Marguerite pattern in Lace earlier in
the year - see the three rings on the edge in the valleys) using only
one pair of gimps (madness, and very loopy gimps, but it is possible!).
Also stashed is a piece of Honiton I started years ago, and haven't
touched for ages, based on one of Ann Orr's quilting designs. (The old
prick and pounce pattern transfers translate nicely into Honiton, as the
dots are at the right spacing!).
Now to get presents wrapped, housework done and decorations up, ready
for tomorrow - not that my cold is making me feel like doing anything at
the moment! Family meal at Jenny''s tomorrow - including Mother-in-Law
as Phil's father is in hospital, so other than "advising", I haven't got
to cook.
