Dear friends,
I went to the Australian War Memorial web-site so that I could send the url of the ANZAC biscuit recipe to an English lacemaker that I met & had shared my biscuits with in mid-July last year.

While there I discovered that the Memorial is hosting an exhibition titled "of Love and War" until May 2010. There are a few articles about the restoration of 4 wedding dresses. Unfortunately the one with lace was deemed too fragile to be displayed.

For those who'd like to explore the on-line articles, they are here:

One interesting article is about the restoration of a kit-bag:

And the ANZAC biscuit recipe is here (scroll down to the bottom) :

When we were living in America I called these Aussie Oatmeal Cookies because people thought I was saying "Anthrax". My youngest likes to call them "Anthrax Cookies" for fun.
I realize that I have to make some soon for Australia Day (26. January).

Warm regards from
Pene in a very cold Tartu, Estonia.
It was -22 C (-7 F) this morning.
