Dona mentioned that she had passed through both Australian and New Zealand
airports carrying food and I have to endorse what Ruth Budge said about
this! New Zealand is as strict as Australia about this and has an automatic
$200 fine for anyone trying to bring food stuffs, in particular fruit, meat
and honey into the country! As one well know Hollywood star recently found
out!

When I returned from England recently I had chocolate bars, bone bobbins and
a wooden Pinard stethoscope with me so I declared these things to be on the
safe side and had not problem with any of them. A big sticker was put on
the box containing them saying they were safe - it is better to declare than
be caught!

Air New Zealand has recently announced that it is relaxing the restrictions
on carrying some things on flights, but as I haven't got the details here I
will not try to say what they are. It is as well to check with any airline
before travelling as the restrictions are always changing!
