This thread (!) has brightened up a couple of dull days at work. My reason
for doing lace (and knitting and crochet for that matter) is the fascination
and power that comes from taking a ball of thread and making something
beautiful or useful (or both) with it.

put them on shirts, mugs, hats, notebooks (the paper kind), pins, just about
anything. The service takes a certain amount out per item sold, and creates
the item upon order.
They have reasonable prices for their items, and
If Mark agrees, you can save his picture into a graphics program, reverse
the image (if you don't do that the words will appear backwards) and print
it on to transfer paper available from most shops that sell computer
supplies. You then place the transfer paper ink side down on to a clean

We have the technology, the transfer material and could print out and send
these around the world for people to press onto their own t-shirt.
Obviously we would need to check what the costs would be, if anyone was
interested.
