Very sad indeed. I had the opportunity to visit the Centrum and observe some
of the wonderful ladies there doing lace. I had a subscription to the
beautiful and informative magazine that the Centrum published. This is truly
sad for Bruges as well as for the lace world.

So sad, but the same old story regarding lace, our own local colleges gave
up all the lace tuition classes because they said they were unviable but the
classes had had their fees raised time after time so that they priced
themselves out and the few who could afford to continue were not given the
