Well my email recipe did send us a digest, so I guess we should write about
anything to generate them. I have a recipe file set up for your ideas.

Crumpets are flat, holey things with a strange (slightly rubbery is the

Absolutely delcious. They have a short shelf life, but can be frozen for a
short period.>

I bought a packet of 8 crumpets from the supermarket last week
packed in clear plastic airtight pack and the sell by date was 12/27/07 so
they would be good until Christmas!! Except we had to eat them with our tea
on Saturday didn't we. <g>

Today I recorded Martha Stewarts tv program as she
had a cpiece on making a chocolate molten cake and I wanted to see how similar
it was to the one I sent yesterday. Well hers was made the traditional way by
creaming sugar and butter, adding eggs gradually, etc in a huge electric mixer
and also needed two other bowls for the eggs and chocolate. Being a lazy cook
I think I like mine better, it used a hand wisk and one bowl and was made in a
couple of minutes once the chocolate and butter was melted.

Tonight we are
having the other two left over puddings with ice cream. After that maybe I
will think about dieting.

p.s. Jean I liked your email about the
Berlin supermarket. My local one, part of a large chain, has just refurbished
the store so it now looks quite spiffy but I still see elderly people
struggling to reach the top shelf. Being a little younger and 5'4 1/2" but
still a pensioner, I offer to help them out. I do have difficulty with the
top shelf when the items are running out and no longer at the front of the
shelf. One of the bag packers there always make a beeline to pack my bags as
he recognises my British accent and wants to engage me in chatting about all
things British. Last week he wanted to know if I ever eat curry as that is
not as popular over here unless you live in an area where there are Indian
immigrants. I was able to say that next Sunday my British group are off to
India House restaurant, 25 miles away, for a buffet that will include curry.
The sales assistant had never had curry, had no idea what it was and she is
older than me!
