As it says - This lace is Genuine Nottingham cotton Leavers Lace. which is machine made lace. The picture isn't great, but I'd bet that the right side looks a bit like woven satin, and it will tend to curl at the edges the way stocking stitch knitting does. Brenda On 10 Jun 2008, at
