I was at a meeting recently where the person was talking about the
Charles Bridge in Prague. He mentioned that there is a plaque on the
bridge giving details of when it was built and by whom. He said that
the foundation stone was laid on 9 July 1357 at 5.31 a.m. so that when
the numbers are all put in line they read: 1357975311357 (year) - 9
(day) - 7 (month)- 5:31 (time). He mentioned that it was a progression
of prime numbers. On this point he was not correct because neither 1
nor 9 are prime numbers (2-3-5-7-11 are the first few). However, I
thought some of you who are going to Prague might be interested. Egg
yolks were added to the mortar to strengthen construction. It is a
UNESCO listed monument.
The Charles Bridge, is at the top of every visitors "must see" list and
there are Czech artists, musicians and souvenir vendors set out. There
is a web-site at www.myczechrepublic.com/prague/sightseeing for anyone
interested.

Malvary - in Ottawa, where I have enough rhubarb and stawberries left to
make one more batch of jam.
