I said I was unable to sign up for a fare-watch (got tired of waiting)? Here's an even better "wrinkle"... The following comes from the "welcome" message I got from the Trvelocity immediately after creating an account with them; my Mac classed it -correctly as it now seems <g> - as "Junk Mail", but I retrieved it, hoping it would be of use...

_______________FREE TRAVELOCITY FAREWATCHER EMAIL_______________

As a member of Travelocity, you can choose up to 5 round
trip itineraries that Travelocity will track for you. Our
search engine will check nightly for a change in published fares
for your selected round trips. Whenever a fare changes by the
amount specified by you, you'll receive an e-mail from us.
Check out the details right now at:
http://svc.travelocity.com/info/info_main/0,,TRAVELOCITY: EN|FW_INFO,00.html#

I tried to reach the URL provided - presumably, a machine-generated one, with no typos - and got a "not found" in reply :)

If you're flying on your own money (not an expense account) and trying to watch your pennies, Travelocity ain't interested in you, it seems. And the farewatcher (penny-watcher?) is as good a way of weeding out the "undesirables" as any... :)

Maybe I should not fly to CA, but stay home and spend the money buying stock in the company <g>
