I see that Portland should have zero centigrade today for a high, plus
whatever your windchills are. I was just at the post office and my car
outdoor thermometer registered one centigrade so we are a little warmer than
you. :-)
Yesterday it was minus 30 centigrade with the wind chill.
On the rare times that our skylight becomes covered
with snow, my DH just walks up over that back of the
house (hill) and cleans away the snow. You're right,
Sue,the snow covered skylight diminishes the good lace
making light.

Yes, it IS somewhat illogical - especially as it's often the first
snow of the season, or close to it, and the drivers in Michigan have
forgotten in the last few months that they ever knew how to drive on
