It states in the auction description that it's "made on the old 1814 Leavers
lace machines" so my guess it machine made :D but what do I know? I'm a
struggling newbie .

As it says - "This lace is Genuine Nottingham cotton Leavers Lace."
which is machine made lace.
The picture isn't great, but I'd bet that the right side looks a bit
like woven satin, and it will tend to curl at the edges the way
stocking stitch knitting does.
