Hi
I am busy configuring a bandwidth manager that acts as a bridge, the
problem that I am currently experiencing is that it works perfectly for
smaller classes like 32kbit, 42kbit etc. As soon as I create a class of
3072kbit or bigger it's constant download is at 6.2mbps.
These are my commands th
Thak you for your hints!

I tried with 12, 20 and even with 30kbit for 1:3
I noticed, that it work for some seconds (or 1-2 minutes) but than the
1:3 class gets more then it should get :(.

Yes if you consider transmission over internet. Unfortunately
it is mostly best effort medium and workable VoIP is possible
mainly because of huge BW after user's access line ..
And there is still no compatible Diffserv marking working over
whole Internet.

differing configs, i was not successful, thus decided to ask experts, I will
wait till monday
thank you
Sorry I answer some mails if it is under 30seconds or so.
I have no time to write/test
Don't expect good quality if use local QoS for incomming
data. To have real non-best effort you need to have QoS
on both sides of link - when transmitting packets.
Then yes - HTB should be able to do it using priorities.
But I doubd you can do it if IMQ is in the way.

Hello all,
Please, does anyone have a setup where HTB or IMQ was used to set aside
uplink/downlink speed for IP Telephony, in other to have clear voice
quality?

2) it should workeven with 6k:
- look at stats (tc -s class show dev eth0) before and
after the test - you are interested in drops. Also try
it during the test to look whether queues are build up.

And what about attached one ? It seems to do the same
but is less intrusive. htb_debug_dump is meant to do
its output in all cases because it is called from
bug-reporting places too.
But yes the call in htb_dump is superfluous so I used
your idea but changed it a bit. I'll submit it for
inclusion l
No, the patch dose not affect tc only dmesg/klogd ect. It changes printk's into
HTB_DBG macros,
these macros don't print unless you set HTB into debug mode :)
