Hi Leo (may I ?) and the others,
I am reading your howto. Very clear too.
But there is one point I don't understand.
I thought that DS said : "one PHB for one DSCP" an we have a table for it
I mean if DSCP=0x30 this is AF12
So why should tc_index do that thing
( skb->tc_index & p.mask ) >> p.shif

Helle everybody,
I am finishing a computer science degree and I would like to know how you
use qos on Linux.
Please take a few seconds to answer my questions
I would like to know :
- what type of qdisc you use
- if it is only for tests or for a "real" use (what use)
- how much qos box do you
It is me again.
is there nos a trouble in my script :
" ... rate 5Mbit weight 0.3 ..." --> is it compatible ??
Thanks again

give that result :
# tc qd sh

Hello,
There is one thing that stays in the deep of my brain (where i can't access)
:
which qdisc exactly send the paquets: the root or the leafs ?
I explain:
You must have a root qdisc
then you have classes (don't care about how much)
and leaf classes MUST have qdisc to send the bits

Hello,
When I try to install DSMARK, I have :
# tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1:0 dsmark indices 64 set_tc_index
Unknown qdisc "dsmark", hence option "indices" is unparsable
all the qdisc are compiled as modules
the module sch_dsmark.o is loaded but unused
May I ask again the questions i ha

Hello everybody,
I try to work with TC for a little while in my study and there still are a few
questions that I can\'t find any answer anywhere.
Firts about qdisc and classes:
- What is exactly the difference between qdsic and class ? They are
so \"intimately tied together\" that i\'m not su

The LARTC Howto refers to SCP in point 9.5 to "do some bulk data transfer
with a tool that properly sets TOS flags".

Hi all,
I begin to work on QoS with Linux.
So, I am very interested with LARTC.
I have allready read the LARTC HOWTO and the QoS Connection Tuning HOWTO.
I am looking for a doc that would be more theoritical than the howtos.
Especially, I am looking for the definitions of classes, queues, filters
