I've found pktstat to be almost exactly what you are looking for.

Right now i am playing with trafshow. Very impressive .
Following command line :
trafshow -n -i eth1 net 192.168.1.0/24
will do what you like.

have a look at iftop and use the options. It is very simple.
But iptraf should also be able to do what you want.
