Why not just add up the complex fft's of the various segments prior to
computing the magnitude and phase. Works every time.

The posted VIs are pretty rudimentary. I remember a few years ago
collaborating with Peter Brock is Australia. He had faced the same
problem as you. Full SG filter code is available in Numerical Recipes in
C, but has the usual problem of array offsets, etc.
