Thanks everyone for the advice ,I have decided to use an old datataker dt50 I have ,But am unsure how to use labview to monitor these sensor readings, Does anybody have any advice or know were to get labview drivers for this device , Any help appreciated. Regards Brett Scott

Hello Joe , Thanks for the info , one more question, I have data starting at maybe 0 , or maybe - 5, or maybe 5 , streaming in packets and how can I make a true or false comparison in that when the load cell is loading it will show true and when unloading show false therefore changing the state

Is this number special in any way , ie , the highest or lowest number or unique in some way to the rest of the data ? If so,this should this will be very easy to do.

Ian Thanks for that, didnt even know those property nodes existed. Works great, BUT the number that controls the direction needs to works that if the number is positive to the previous number it flashes down , and if the displacment is negative to the last number it goes up(Blinks) ,not relative

serial data simulation problem

Hi I have been working with a vi witch connects to a serial port and reads load and displacement, how can I simulate the type of data I would normally be receiving , so that I can test everything thoroughly, without actually connecting to the instrument at work. There is a peak load detection

Thanks mads , surely there's got to be a easier way ,Perhaps there's a vi around that I could wire up to the relevant paths and this could give we a sort of ascending or descending streams numerics

I am recieving data (displacment) and wish to represent this as an arrow blinking up or down depending on the number when the displacment data is increasing the arrow blinks down and the opposite for negative displacment ,Does anybody know a easy way to do this or even better a example vi in V6
