Hi!
I read the LabView manual on how to define a subVI and got the
connector pane setup. But nowhere could I find info on how to actually get
the
custom VI placed as a subVI inside another VI. Must be so obvious
that they must have forgot to mention it...
How do I get it to be placed on the
The functions palette has a choice called select VI...(icon looks like
a VI icon inside a dialog bubble) choose that and browse to the VI
you want to insert as a sub-VI.
If you use a function frequently you can put it in the user.lib
directory and it will automatically show in the user lib
I wanted to add a quick note to Mads reply.
You can also drag and drop the VIs from windows explorer. If you have
the VI open you can drag and drop the icon onto a diagram of another
VI.

Hello,
Mads is correct. You can place the subVI by going to Select a VI...
on the functions palette, and selecting your saved VI.
You can also drag the subVI directly into your main VI. Just open the
subVI, click and hold on its icon, and drag it into the other VI's
block diagram.
I hope this
There is another way to put a subVI into a VI as well. Have the subVI
on your screen (with the icon visible - not the connector pane) and
the VI that you want to put it into. Then click and drag the icon for
the subVI and drop it onto the diagram of the VI you want it in. I do
this all the time.
