I opened your Tab Control VI in LabVIEW 6.1 and LabVIEW 7.0.
In LabVIEW 6.1, the tab control did show up in the weird way you
described. However, in LabVIEW 7.0, the tab control looked normal.
It could possibly be an unexpected behavior in LabVIEW 6.1 that was
fixed in LabVIEW 7.0.

Yes.
I can't explain it either but if I resize the tab control by even a
slight amount, the tabs get displayed correctly.
Are you saying that you are able to resize the tab control and then
create an executable that displays correctly?
I was able to build and run a program following your instructions. I
saw no problem. What do you mean by "will not build properly"? Do you
get an error or what?
Using LV 6.1, try the following;
Create a new vi. Place a Tab control,(from the Arrays & Clusters
palette), on it's front panel. Right click on one of it's tabs and
follow "Advance-->Tab Location-->select Left". Save your vi. Create a
build for it and run the program. Does anyone know of a fix for
