I actually wanted to know how to implement the way a DSO works in LV
(setting trigger level and timebase etc.), but this isn't necessary
anymore since I decided to use my dsp to calculate the data to be

If your question is how to display data in the same way an
oscilloscope does, the answer is to use a chart instead of a graph.
Right click on the chart and select Advanced >> Update Mode >> Scope
Chart. This mode has a retracing display
