Is there any FreePascal/Lazarus programmers/users heading to Fosdem this
year ?
if so, it would be nice we try to meetup at Delirium Friday evening or
during the event on ULB site,
in order to expose the current projects we are each other working on,

how to build a Kernel built with pure FPC and Lazarus,
If any FPC developers and Lazarus developers heading to Fosdem this
week-end,
let's try
I am using Lazarus 1.3 build on 2014-07-29 using FPCUP on Windows 8.1 with
a resolution of 1920x1080,
the AnchorDockingDsgn0.5 package looks to work OK for me,
saving my custom docked layout,
reopening Lazarus will restore the window layout saved as default.

My config is Win 8.1 64bits,
Starting lazarus will open my default project,
but as soon as I try to open another project through the field dialog box
(File | Open),
the open file dialog box opens,
it crashes the IDE after few seconds,
I have seen this http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=25067
Thank you Reinier,
your explanations are clear.

If string compare also allows for greater vs smaller results the
programming language needs to impose some sort order (and maybe a lot more
locale-depending complex algorithms). This to me seems horribly
complicated.
Sorting can be done not only by locale and alphabetically, but also in
phone book and more sort orders.
But I don't know any sort order that sorts german umlauts at the end of
the whole list (as UTF8CompareText does).
Such a sort order is not usable for me.

Hello Mark,
So can anybody provide step-by-step instructions for writing a Hello,
World! in Javascript, compiling it to asm.js, and running that from a
(Linux) shell? Even better, converting the asm.js to native code so it can
be run without a wrapper?
asm.js is just a subset of JavaScript.
I would keep out LLVM and emscripten and just directly generate asm.js
code which is then simply compatible to the libraries provided by the
emscripten project.
I do agree with Sven,
