A few months back I had to decide on Firebird components as well and
choose FBLib. I first tried SQLdb that comes with fpc, but I also
needed database management functionality, which SQLdb was lacking, so
tried FBLib. FBLib works great. Good transaction support, support
for management features (
I have been using the SQLdb package that comes with Lazarus to connect
to Firebird and so far it works fine for me. Using it both for
graphical and console applications. And it is easy if you later decide
to change the underlying database server.
