There is a new release of Dachstein-CD available in the usual locations:

fast:
http://lrp1.steinkuehler.net/files/diskimages/dachstein-CD/
http://lrp2.steinkuehler.net/files/diskimages/dachstein-CD/

The main changes include the inclusion of net-snmp (modified version of
Andrew Hoying's package), an update to the latest kernel (2.2.19-3),
modifications to the init-scripts and general configuration to intelligently
create and use /dev/cdrom (which will hopefully avoid the requirement for
most folks to customize their PKGPATH), and a minor tweak to
/etc/network.conf.

In general, none of these changes are earth-shattering, and there's no real
need to upgrade if you're running release 1.0.1.

While net-snmp has been added, the older (and much smaller) snmp.lrp is
still available, so if you're running SNMP, no changes are necessary to keep
working. Migrating your existing snmpd config file to net-snmp is something
you'll need to do manually, and is beyond the scope of this e-mail.

The kernel was updated to fix problems loading some file-system modules
(specifically ext2 and nfs), but unless you're running into this as a
problem, the older kernels are fine. Note there are a few more devices
enable in the new kernel configurations (some USB devices and a few ISDN
drivers/options) that were not enabled in prior kernels due to simple
oversight, so if you're having trouble with either of these, you may want to
try the new kernels.

The new /dev/cdrom symlink creation is pretty nifty, but if you've already
got your system configured, it's kind of unnecessary.

Finally, the change to /etc/network.conf is minor, and simply adds supoport
for setting EXTERN_IF=DYNAMIC and reading the IP directly from the
interface. This is intended for folks running PPPoE, and is mainly to try
and reduce confusion (currently, you have to specify EXTERN_DHCP=YES to get
the same effect, which isn't really applicable for PPPoE connections).

If you do decide to upgrade, note that there have been changes to root.lrp
AND the kernel, so you'll need to copy the new kernel and root.lrp to your
boot-disk if you're running off floppy. CD booters can upgrade everything
but /etc/network.conf by simply booting the new CD. You can manually fold
in the network.conf changes if you feel you need them.

The gory details:

----------
Changes from Dachstein-CD v1.0.1 to Dachstein-CD v1.0.2:
----------

Added Andrew Hoying's net-snmp:
  http://leaf.sourceforge.net/devel/wolffang/
Broke single package into two pacakges:
    netsnmpd - snmp daemon
    netsnmpu - snmp utilities
Fixed missing tab in .conf file
Removed perl scripts & supporting data:
    /usr/bin/mib2c
    /usr/bin/snmpcheck
    /usr/bin/snmpconf
    /usr/bin/tkmib
    /usr/share/snmp/mib2c*
    /usr/share/snmp/snmpconf
    /usr/share/snmp/snmpd.old
Cleared DESCRIPTION fields in MIBs to save space
  Modified startup script
    use /bin/sh instead of /bin/bash
    use start-stop-daemon
changed RCDLINKS so daemon will start in runlevels 2-5

Kernel updated to 2.2.19-3
  reiserfs patch removed
  openwall patch updated to ow4

/dev/cdrom symlink intelligently created at boot-time
link points to the first CD-ROM drive found (IDE searched before SCSI)
SCSI drivers must be loaded by linuxrc for SCSI CD-ROM drives to be
    found...see /boot/etc/modules

root version changed to 4.0.6

Default package path now points to /dev/cdrom, making life easier on those
who don't have their CD hooked up as /dev/hda

/etc/modules updated to load modules from /dev/cdrom by default

/etc/network.conf modified
Support added for EXTERN_IP=DYNAMIC, which causes the IP to be read
directly from the interface (just like EXTERN_DHCP=YES, but for folks
not running DHCP, ie PPPoE users).
  Minor cleanup of some comments

etc version unlinked from root version, and set to 4.0.1

Updated README re: /dev/cdrom changes
