I have new kernels available, which include patches for a couple recent
kernel bugs:
http://www.securityfocus.com/cgi-bin/archive.pl?id=1&mid=221337&start=2001-1
0-15&end=2001-10-21

The 'small' kernel tree, and the source for building your own kernel is
currently available at my site, and should also be available from the higher
speed mirrors.

The new kernel trees are prefixed by 2.2.19-2-, as opposed to 2.2.19-1-.
The "Dachstein-" symlinks now point to the new kernels instead of the older
directories. NOTE: At this point, only the small and source trees are
available. The RAID and normal trees will be available later today or
tomorrow, as my sluggish P90 development system earns it's keep compiling
non-stop for hours on end...

The new kernels differ from the previous release only in the version of the
Openwall patch applied. The previous version used the ow1 version of the
patch, while the newer version uses ow3. In addition to a few minor changes
to the openwall code, the new ow3 patch includes fixes for the two reported
kernel bugs:
  Local DoS via deep symlinks
  Root compromise by ptrace(3)

I also took the opportunity to enable compilation of the Racal ethernet
drivers (as modules), so the three ni*.o ethernet drivers (ni5010, ni52, and
ni65) are now available for anyone needing them

You should be able to simply replace your running kernel with the new
version...I doubt any modules will need to be replaced, but I haven't
actually tested this...

NOTE: To save room on my web-server, the old (2.2.19-1-*) uncompressed
kernel directories have been deleted. The contents are still available as
tar.gz files if you need them for any reason.
