That was the problem.
All I had to do is go into my VPN settings and uncheck the "use gateway of
remote network" setting under TCP/IP and the problem went away.

I found the problem. Somehow the ipsec.lrp that end up on my bering 1.2
boot
CD is the wrong version. The message I get is because that package does not
support ipsec port selector.
