I have been playing around with Leaf and I am currently using an IBM
NetVista N2800e Type 8364, which is basically a thin client, for my
firewall running off a CF card. It has a Intel Geode 266MHz CPU and
64MB RAM. This boots Leaf with all the shorewall rules and whatnot

Has anyone managed to install an Internal modem on Bearing LEAF ? If so what
modem did you use, which driver etc, I am having issues getting this to
work.

Syslogd is doing a resolve of your hostname, if you have changed your
hostname and/or router ip-address make sure you also have set the contents
of /etc/hosts correct:
192.168.1.254 firewall
