I've installed Portsentry on my floppy setup, thinking it would give me
extra security.
It appears to be working, but I have 2 questions:
1) Does it do anything that Shorewall doesn't (they both use iptables)?
2) I say it appears to be working, but I don't see anything logged,
other than entries
I did use the initrd_ide_cd.lrp package (renamed to initrd) and had to
include other modules (scsi_mod, sr_mod, sg .. for the burner and also
others for my ethernet cards).
regarding isolinux, I started using syslinux 3.11 (like for 2.4) but
since it did not boot I upgraded to syslinux 3.2.

hdc=ide-scsi might be useless with new kernel. it's just because I use a
CD-burner and thus need to specify that hdc is an scsi emulated drive.
BTW, it works for Bering 2.4.32 and modules do load exactly the same way
in both cases (2.4 & 3.0).

Hi Pezet,
What is this entry in isolinux.cfg: hdc=ide-scsi?
You also haven't a backup device defined in your leaf.cfg, but that is a
different problem.
It doesn't look like a standard ISO btw, did you create it yourself?

hi all !
I'm having a problem trying to start from CD-ROm with the new Bering 3.0
beta version.
loading the modules (under /boot/lib/modules) goes as nicely as with
2.4.32 but when it comes to leaf.cfg, it cannot read/find the file.
if (for the sake of it) I use the initrd package from Bering 2.4
