rotection, but it's been
a while and I don't have any boxes running those "operating systems" (for
lack of a better term) to test them. I do remember that IP addresses could
be hijacked under Win 3.x but I'm not sure which IP stacks were affected by
this.
.
I'
to steal the
IP address like that with Linux? Even Windoze prevents this from happening
and just gives you an annoying popup to let you know someone else just
connected with the same IP.
Thanks especially to Ray Olszewski and Brad Fritz for their help!

Will do. Thanks for the great suggestions and pointing me in the right
direction. I'll update you
outer). In the dnscache settings, I have the "LRP box
internal IP" set to the internal address.

Thanks, I'll ignore their comments about this. Please let me know if you
need an
k for potential
problems, e.g., what log file do I check for errors with the network cards?
My ISP told me to check my ARP tables for excessive entries. Is that a
possibility? Also, if I want to upgrade some of the packages, e.g.,
Shorewall, what's the e
aching, if that's what people recommend.
Also, if I end up using Squid, should I disable Bering's dnscache since
Squid also caches DNS lookups?
Any tips, pointers or advice on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
