The manual from asterisk.org states that the required version of mpg123 is
v0.59r however the one that is in the cvs is 0.60

The problem is that you _have_ /usr/include/newt.h installed on your system.
I've just committed a fix which should solve your problem.

Your checkout seems correct.
Can you post the error your encountering ?
Your problem is certainly a missing "host" dependency (maybe installing the
newt library on your system will help)
