I tried my self with the latest ISO image and can't confirm your problem.
What I did was:
! mount iso9660 /dev/cdrom
crc32 --> needs to be loaded for tulip
tulip--> from ISO loaded by command above
tun --> from as well ISO - just to be shure that part loading etc works

Anyway, The problem is that if you tell it to load the tulip module, the
script is looking in a specific directory for tulip.o, namely
'/lib/modules/2.4.31/kernel/drivers/net'. The module tulip.o does no
