Well, given the reactions here and especially the PostgreSQL repositories
to bring Pg to older distros, I think the outcome is a "Go".
The next steps would be to:
* Make sure our README/INSTALL documentation mentions the correct
prerequisites
* The compatibility table (in the FAQ) gets
and, I think it's worth noting that postgresql.org provides .debs, and rpms
of newer postgres releases built for many "stable" and "oldstable" releases
of operating systems going some years.
I.e. there is no "distro" reason not to have access to 9.5.
