Would you be willing to test this on the latest SVN. It may be that
sales tax could be the issue.
Also, are you running Perl 5.10.0?

Just to clarify, the bug I'm talking about has only been observed (to my
knowledge) in a heavily modified branch of lsmb. I'm out of town in CA
right now, but would be glad to check for it in stock lsmb when I get back,
and test any potential fixes.

That should read "any way within the stable branch."
Some of them cannot be adequately handled until we rewrite portions of the code.

I'm sure this is a bug I introduced somehow, but it's really driving me
crazy and is presenting a serious problem for my client. When I'm on a
sales order or sometimes an invoice edit page, and try to print, either to
html or to postscript, I find that on some orders the orderitem description
