Just watched the 15minuts of highlights on LUTV and I must say I am very
impressed. The number of chances we created and shots on target shows that we
can be a force going forward as well
I know that LUTV is biased in our favour when they do the editing but some of
our flowing moves were excellent - none more so of course than the one leading
to the second goal.
I know the winner was a shot from distance (and what a shot) but just to go on
and win a game when you concede a 89th minute equaliser away from home shows we
do have some team spirit and will to win (how many times in the past few
seasons have we been a goal up with minutes to go and managed to lose it?)
A shame that their goal came from a corner - I was at a wedding yesterday so
asked my son and my mate to text me updates - their goal was described by one
as "messy og from a corner, obviously" and by the other as "losing one nil,
from you guessed it, a corner" - SO it seems as if we are still a bit
vulnerable from them even though it is not total panic every time we conceed
one any more
SO onwards and upwards, a sell out v Geordies and tickets selling well v Villa
- lets hope they can put on a real show in front of a big crowd and watching TV
audience that will bring even more fans back for the less attractive matches
There is certainly a 'feel good' factor around the place at the moment (shame
that once again it is interrupted by a week off) Let's hope Cellino continues
to keep his low profile and does not feel the need to stick his oar in now that
Monk is getting the plaudits.
The play offs are the best we can hope for this season and that is going to be
hard but not impossible and at least, for the first time in ages, we are a team
looking like we are going in the right direction
Dave
