Saturdays game could be one of the biggest in Leeds history under Bates. A great performance and result, and it could lead to those wavering fans deciding to renew - I cannot see many who do not renew by the end of Jan, deciding to renew by the end of Feb and paying £80 extra. A good performance by Townsend, Varynen, Forsell (and maybe Rogers- though it looks like the paperwork will not be done in time) or any other 'new signing' and maybe, just maybe* fans will have a surge of optimism. On the other hand a poor result and / or performance could see the back of Simon Grayson, the Bates Out stuff taken to new levels, and the final nail in the coffin of those who are considering whether to renew or not (leading to more player sales to make up for the lost revenue) and a quickening of the downward spiral.
