        BEHIND AUSTRALIAN RACISM & NATIONALISM
        includes indigenous and refugee speakers looking at the context
        of current refugee policies & a rich history of resistance to
        racism in Australia

11:15AM - WORKSHOPS (subject to change) including
         - ALTERNATIVES TO MANDATORY DETENTION
          should we replace detention centres with "reception centres"?
          what other alternatives are there?
         - OPTIONS TO TEMPORARY VISAS
          there are now over 8,000 people on tpv's in Australia. What
          implications has this had? With some of these coming to an end
          in October what are the implications for the refugee rights
          movement and the sanctuary network?
         - PACIFIC SOLUTION- OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND?
          What are the implications of government strategy; winding back
          some detention centres while stopping refugees reaching
          Australian shores. How can we respond?
         - REFUGEE ACTION COLLECTIVE INTRO, Q & A SESSION
          everything you ever wanted to know about refugee rights and
          RAC but were to scared to ask...

1:30PM  - PANEL
           REFUGEES + GLOBALISATION
           Featuring a panel of refugee, union & environmental activists

2:30PM  - FINAL SESSION, an open dialogue
           STRATEGIES + TACTICS TO BUILD THE CAMPAIGN
         with half an hour in small groups, then an 'all in' session this
         final session will be open to discuss such topics as:
             - implications of the Woomera protests?
             - what alliances should RAC prioritise?
             - what should be our main focuses in the next period?
             - what are concrete ideas for future actions?
             - how can we involve more people in the campaign
             be sure to bring your ideas and have your say...
