advantage/dis-advantages of the carriage is it is not captured on the
rails. The only thing that holds it down is the connection to the lead
screw and the weight of the router. Dis-advantage to that is that all

Here's a weird thought, don't use your lock. Hold the router at the depth
of your stop when making the cut.

There are a lot of different tricks to get rid of this problem,
These are my favorite ways to handle the problem are.
