i have had one for years. as to why, i see it as a replacement for a
coping saw. if i didn't own a scroll saw and i would have to use the
coping saw,i wouldn't do most of the projects i do now. i have never done a
project solely using the scroll saw. i don't think i would have the
patience it
part 3 of the legacy workstation is out.. stopped to show the features of
the dedicated shop vac & blower system. it's starting to feel like a
workstation already.

For me one great application for the scroll saw is to facilitate making a
“Vortex bowl” which I finish turning on a regular lathe, unfortunately not on a
LOM.

just bought an Axminster EX-21 Scroll saw, It sits alongside my Revo and
Woodchuck, Just had a go on it and am quite impressed - so much
to do and so little time with all this equipment
