Thanks Billthat is what I did on my test. (marked and center punched the end of the spindle.) I was thinking perhaps two chucks could be used to hold inside-out turnings as well? It might be a neat Christmas ornament project? Making an Alum. chuck was not very hard to do.I drilled the Alum. plat

Great Idea curt for repetitive work provided your blanks are all cut the same I have one somewhere that has a slight taper that lets the wood fit firm if slightly out. if you don’t want to have to cut the centre drill hole off later or drill one for that matter or worried it might split then yes
