I use precisely cut wood blocks typically made from baltic birch that work
great for me.
I mark each one for the width they are with a Red Sharpie.

Hey Curt,
Nice job as always and great to see your excitement in bone turning. I
enjoy it as well but don't see to find quite as
much time to play with it. I have a bunch of discs ready to glue up again
though so as soon as I get done procrastinating
my cabinet doors I will have more play time.

Where you using a pen mandrel then? Have you ever thought of putting a thin

Then just tighten your thumb screw extra tight? Just a thought.

Hey Eric,
Yes the bone turning is a lot of fun, would be great to see others start
working on this too.
Curt worked with me on it and though I have not turned near as many bone
turnings as Curt
I really enjoy it.
Hope you will join us.

hey Brigitte,
I don't own a Shopsmith bandsaw but will say my PM1800 has bearings and
would never go back to a bandsaw
with out either having them or adding them.
In my opinion, I would highly recommend them to you if they are adaptable
to the shopsmith. You can't go wrong.
