Agree that one pass is required to eliminate transitions. Tim's suggestion
made me think of the wave modification, a device that can rotate the
work piece a specific amount at a specific place in the travel.
But I think Curt was referring to some sort of clutch that engages and
disengages the

In theory, yes on my machine. Curt has a similar arrangement that
might be easier to implement the two indexes that seem to be
needed.
It's gonna be awhile. Christmas is sneaking up on us and I want to
do some stuff. Not energetic in these cloudy chilly days.
