Hi, I am new with the Family History site and was wondering if someone could
please help me. All my Legacy information is on the computer that I use
daily, but I now have a laptop and would like to know how to transfer all
the information that I have on to the laptop without losing any of it.
Hi Dee,
Use the Search

That will work unless you've been looking at people and closing out
instead of cancelling as closing changes the modified date even
though nothing changed
But even so, it will give you a shorter list of people to check. You

Earlier this year, I added some information that I found in the Human
Family Project. In my source data, there is the following link: http://users.legacyfamilytree.com/northerneurope/index.htm.
When I try to connect using this link, all I get is the Bad Gateway message. I

I have used the AKA for this purpose. It is not

Otherwise, they appear B&W. Some scanners have a device to allow this

Sandra, what type of pictures were they? Our pictures from the 1940s & 50s
are all in black and white. There were some in early 60s that were color,

Thanks to Cathy and all others who sent me suggestions and procedures.
Everyone was very helpful. I now have some experimental work to follow
through. Fingers crossed!
Thanks again,

Hi Larry
At first I did not want the USA feature either but two things changed my

everyone to be clear that most of my entries are from the USA.
Second the USA being there means that I have checked the location with

Hi Larry;
I think you are talking about the ", USA" that is added
to the long and short location when you use the Geo Location Database.
There is a control file that does this in your C:/Legacy folder called
"GeoCountryCodes.txt".
First you want to copy this file and name it "GeoCountryCodes-Alt.t

That definitely will *not* work with our system, or any other mailing list

You're right Margaret. Clicking the "X" does keep the data. But the Cancel

I have been updating Legacy and then going to FTM and updating it also
manually for the trees.,
I have not tried the GEDCOM approach yet. How does that work in order to add
people, make changes etc.
Please walk me through the process if you have the time
