'hide' stuff in your computer, but printing the
reports will hide it on the paper, gedcom, etc. You
always have everything, and if snoops have access to
your computer, you need to think about issues of which
files to save.

research the data came from the Parish Registers, and towns, villages, or
hamlets were seldom mentioned, if they even existed, but the Parish was

When inputting locations in Legacy, do you differentiate between towns and
parishes?
What I mean is, if you only know the parish name (and not the town name of
an event), do you put the word parish in your location to separate it from a
town of the same name?
I.e. Kilininian parish, Argyll, Scotl

settings have a shortcut key by looking for the underlined letter in the

Are you sure you're marked living? Strange question, I know, but I have
accidentally entered something in a death field and the living individual
was marked as not living. When you remove the data, the flag is not
automatically switched.

Unfortunately no. Cathy has suggested doing a chart from a common ancestor.
This is possible, but may not work depending upon the relationships. For
instance, if I want a chart with all my family, it is on my mothers and
fathers sides. So there are more than one top level ancestors.

I have just created a Focus Group for a demonstration using
one of my own ancestral lines. I ticked the box
Suppress details for living people, and although the names are there no
other details have been exported for my siblings or their
descendants.
BUT my details are still shown.
