Deleting the desc.usr file worked.
This is very helpful list and I have learnt a lot about using Legacy and
other genealogy related issues by sitting quietly in the background and
reading the posts.

I might suggest you try deleting the file(s) Descend.usr and/or DescNarr.usr
then restart Legacy and try creating the report. If this does not work,
perhaps a reinstall.
The usr files can be located in the Legacy install directory.
